Well, I promised I’d be making more videos now that school’s over, and here’s the first of many more to come. Check out the fancy details: We’ve got music and text effects! I’m getting pretty good at this iMovie thing. Enjoy, and have a great weekend.

Hey, great video but I got confused when you had less pie dough than before. Did you split it in two so that you had some for your top?
Hi Ben! Yeah, that’s my amateur editing… sorry about that. It’s so hard to keep it under 10 minutes and capture all the find details. Yes, you divide the dough in two portions and then you roll out the top and bottoms separately. Someday when I have my own TV show I’ll do it in 30 minutes and I promise I won’t skip any steps!
Making me hungry Miri – I haven’t made pastry for years!
Great video! I’m in London all month and going through Food Network withdrawal so this was a good fix : )
Hi Melanie! London sounds fun. I’m in… St. Louis. This is your first mother’s day, if I’m not mistaken? Happy Mother’s Day!
Oh goodness no, no Mother’s day for me yet : ) Thanks though!
Why on earth did I think you had a baby?? I must be losing my mind!
I was surprised you can leave the dough marbled with butter. Good tip! And who knew the weaving was an optical illusion. Question… there’s always a little left over pie crust from trimming the edges. Any suggestions for little treats I can pop in the oven with the pie?
Fantastic website and pie! I am so glad Herodia posted about it on FB and I checked it out. I really look forward to making your other recipes. Please consider having more cake making classes this summer?! I would definitely attend! Huge thanks! Lena
Thanks Lena! I know, everyone seems to want to take the cake decorating class. I am going to have to figure out how to work more of those into the schedule, and then how to get more people into each class. It would be so fun to have you!
Actually never seen/heard of a fruit pie with only strawberries in but this looks wonderful and so delicious! Not surprisingly =)
Great video! I love making pie but I’ve never made my own crust. Too intimidating. Now, after watching this video, I think I will. Hope all is good!
Thanks Coco! You should give it a try, it’s kinda fun.

What a great video! Hope you are doing well! It seems like it has been forever since we took that class. I’m going to have to try this – I have never tried the basket weave!

That’s so awesome! I hope it tasted as good as it looks!
Miri, is there a text version of this recipe? I was too absorbed in the video that I forgot to write down the ingredients while watching.
I don’t think I posted it, but I should. Meanwhile, I will email it to you when I get home on Sunday! Strawberry pie in January… you must be anxious for springtime!
